Which shoe and which Bag by Gucci

Advertisements

Did you see those Cult shoes?

On so many bloggers, and on every fashion magazines’ web site and street style photo gallery?

There they were.

Backless.

Flat.

Gucci.

All nice from the front but…

At the back it was hairy.

I must have missed the memo that we are to think these are amazing cos I just don’t get it.

I love a loafer but not with a hairy inner. Just like you squashed a muppet under your foot.

All the bloggers must have a received a free pair is what I’m thinking!

The designer that brought this out was the new designer at Gucci who certainly wanted to make his mark on the scene.

Allessandro Michele is being awarded the coveted English Design councils award as 2015’s International Designer of the Year, after being appointed the Creative Director for Gucci in January this year and after only 4 collections.

Michele first joined Gucci in 2002 from Fendi, working under Tom Ford, but his promotion to head of the fashion house surprised many in the industry, who considered him a relative unknown.

The award, previously won by the likes of Nicolas Ghesquière and Miuccia Prada, is an acknowledgement of Michele’s achievements since stepping into the role of creative director at Gucci in January this year. Gucci now ranks at number two in the global luxury goods market.

Vogue Runway’s wrote :

Alessandro Michele is in the spotlight as the Pied Piper of change—a risk-taker and revolutionary who has not so much wiped the slate clean at Gucci as doodled all over it, colored it in, stuck sequins on it, and tied it up with a grosgrain bow. His Spring lineup was a very much amplified, filled-in, decorated, and dazzling accessorized extension of the girly, geeky, vintage-like collection that he launched last season in the incongruously dark nightclubby surroundings of the show space the company had been using since the ’90s, when Tom Ford was grooving the disco ’70s at the brand. As Michele said backstage, surrounded by a visual kaleidoscope of glittery, flower-embroidered satin, chiffon, Lurex knits, brocades, and trimmings, “It’s a big trip! Of course I am interested in personal style and quirkiness. There are things here that look vintage, but don’t really exist as vintage—it’s the illusion of it. I’m not nostalgic! I’d like to shake it up again.”

The show was very geeky-groovy with the 70’s vibe dialled up to the max. So beware we are not leaving the 70’s trend soon. I’m still remembering when the 70’s style turned daggy and we cringed when we thought of this era for a very long time.

Hard to get the head around thats its cool again for sure.

But the Gucci bags are iconic and I love a good loafer! So just remember everything has to be taken individually from the collections that hit the runway. None of us are going to wear it all at once. There have been many red carpet Gucci clothed celebrities recently that have taken pieces from the runway. And you know that if Sienna Miller and Chloe Sevigne wore it, then its going to be a big trend.

Sienna Miller

Anyway the bag is an easy add to your wardrobe.

The red and green stripe is still in force and although it it will be hard to wear with everything, it can be done with denim and neutrals or autumn tones.
